Built to backthe talentpriced out
Passage is a Talent Success Platform. We match international students with PGWP-eligible Canadian programs that lead to real labour-market shortages, finance the tuition and first year of living costs that traditional credit ignores, and stay with each student through graduation and employment.
An entire generation of talent the system had no plan for.
Every year, more than two hundred thousand international students apply to study in Canada. The ones who get in tend to share a single quiet trait: a family that can put six figures on a bank statement before the application is even read.
Roughly 3% of international talent can clear that bar. The other 97% never make it onto a recruiter’s list, into a college’s inbox, or onto a study-permit officer’s desk. Brilliant nurses, electricians, ECEs, and engineers are filtered out before any conversation about merit begins.
Passage was built to back that 97%. We finance the talent the educational system has historically priced out, route them into Canadian programs aligned with verified labour shortages, and stay with each student through graduation and PGWP-eligible employment. Financing is the tool; long-term outcomes are the product.
A short film on what we’re building, and the people we’re building it for.
Three commitments that compound into long-term outcomes.
Match, Finance, Stay. Each step is necessary, none is sufficient on its own, and together they make Passage a Talent Success Platform rather than a loan product.
- 01 · Match
Match real demand
We don’t place students into whatever program will admit them. We start from verified Canadian labour shortages, then route candidates into PGWP-eligible programs at public DLIs that meet that demand.
- Verified Government of Canada and Job Bank shortage data
- PGWP eligibility screened upfront
- Public colleges and universities only
- 02 · Finance
Finance the unfundable
Traditional credit punishes newcomers. We underwrite using program, profile, and outcome signals — not credit history that doesn’t cross borders — and offer up to C$65,000 in tuition and first-year living costs to qualified candidates.
- Up to C$65,000 per student
- 11.95% fixed APR, no hidden fees
- Cash-collateral model, terms in writing
- 03 · Stay
Stay through outcomes
Loan-only models walk away at signing. We don’t. Passage stays with each student through study-permit support, arrival, academics, and post-graduate employment — because our financial model only works when student outcomes do.
- Pre-arrival study-permit guidance
- On-the-ground academic and settlement support
- Job search and PGWP-eligible placement help
The same care, applied to every applicant.
Passage is a platform first. AI guides intake, organises documents, and applies policy consistently — so the people on our team spend their time on the parts of admission and financing that genuinely need a human.
- Guided intake
Every applicant moves through the same structured intake, in the same order, with nothing skipped.
- Documents checked and organised
Required documents are validated the moment they’re uploaded and filed where the right reviewer can find them.
- Policies applied consistently
Eligibility rules are written once and applied identically to every file, regardless of country, sector, or intake.
- Approvals with a full audit trail
Every decision — approval, denial, edge-case override — is logged with the policy, the reviewer, and the timestamp.
A short history, a long mandate.
Founded in 2023. A public commitment to change one million lives by the start of 2030. The work between those two dates is what this page is for.
- 2023Founded
Passage is founded in Toronto
Built on a single insight: a generation of international talent was being filtered out of Canadian education before merit was ever assessed. The structural fix was financing, not recruitment.
- 2024Programs
Lending platform goes live
First cohorts of Passage students arrive at PGWP-eligible Canadian colleges in healthcare, skilled trades, ECE, and STEM — fully funded, fully placed, fully supported through arrival.
- 2024Launched
The Passage Afghan Program
Passage launches the Afghan Program in 2024, funding and admitting up to 100 Afghan women through Canadian university and college programs — women shut out of school in their own country.
- 2025Today
Talent flows in from 100+ countries
Students from across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America are matched with Canadian programs aligned to verified labour shortages. The platform now supports onshore and offshore pathways.
- 2030Goal
1,000,000 lives changed
Our public commitment: by the start of 2030, Passage will have changed the lives of one million people through Canadian education and the careers it unlocks.
The people accountable for making it work.
A small team in Toronto, working across product, operations, finance, and law to keep the Passage promise to every student on the platform.
Toronto, on a good day.
The leaders above are accountable. The people below are the reason any of this actually ships.

We’re looking for the people who can make this work.
Passage is small on purpose and ambitious on purpose. If you want to spend the next phase of your career on something with a real, measurable bottom line for the talent the system missed, we’d like to talk.
